Jim's Bio
Bro. Jim knew as a child growing up in Mississippi that there was
something special for him to do. However, as a young man Satan took hold of him
and he struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. Running from God and the call
on his life, he sank deeper into drugs and alcohol until the Lord got his
attention. It was in 1986 that Jim gave his heart to the Lord but there were still trials and turmoil in his life. In 1993 Jim made a complete commitment to the Lord and in late 1994 he went to school to become a minister of the Gospel. In 1995, Jim completed his studies with Touching Hands School of Ministry and started full time in the ministry, pastoring in Mississippi and Missouri.
While pursuing his call from the Lord Jim remained involved with his singing career, winning the 1999 Airplay International Achievement of Merit Award for Christian Music. He was already receiving blessings from his work for God and was privileged to release his first radio single through Circuit Rider Records, “Wishes”, which met with great success. This success inspired Jim and helped him tremendously to catapult his ministry. Additionally, In 1999, Jim's project, "Still Holding On" was recorded and opened doors in Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Mississippi.
The year 1999 brought further blessings and great success as Jim received nominations for the CGMA for Shepherd of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
In 2000, Jim won the Horizon Award for the ICMA Germany for the song, “Still Holding On.” In the year 2001, Jim released the song, “Lord Paint My Mind”, on Cabin Creek Records. He then released, “A Cross Upon A Hill”, on EHK Records and received great overseas exposure and airplay.
Jim has had great success in music with hits such as “He Said”, “When Jesus is all I have” and his first #1 song “Wore Out” in July 2004, and “MaMa” released in 2004 also. Jim has 6 new CDs out:
